What do I need to bring?

  • An open mind
  • Yoga mat
  • Towel (beach towel & hand towel)
  • Water
         (all are available for rent/purchase at the studio)

Why a “certified” Bikram yoga studio?

  • Bikram yoga is a very specific type of yoga that requires appropriate training & knowledge to be taught safely and effectively.
  • All of our instructors are certified Bikram yoga instructors that have completed an intensive 9 week training program requiring over 500 hours of study.  We maintain our good standing by attending recertification classes every 3 years.
  • If you are not practicing Bikram yoga at a certified studio, you are not getting the true Bikram experience.

It’s my FIRST class – HELP!

  • You do NOT need to pre-register.  You may come to any class you want - beginners welcome in ALL classes!
  • Be sure to arrive 15-20 minutes before class starts to register
  • Come well hydrated.  It’s recommended that you drink ½ your body weight in ounces throughout the day to stay well hydrated.  (Ex: 100lbs = 50oz.)

What should I wear?

  • Fitted clothing that is comfortable to sweat in. 
  • Remember it’s hot in the room – shorts are best!
  • Men - shorts with a liner are best.

Should I eat before class?

  • It’s recommended that you practice on an empty stomach.  Eat 2-3 hours before class.  If you need to eat, try some fruit.

Why is the room HOT?

The room is heated to:
  • protect the muscles & allow for a deeper stretch
  • detoxify the body (open pores let toxins out)
  • thin the blood to clear the circulatory system
  • increase the heart rate for a better cardiovascular workout
  • improving strength by putting muscle tissue in optimal state for reorganization
  • reorganize the lipids (fat) in the muscular tissue

What if I have an injury?

Bikram yoga is wonderful therapy for many injuries, but you must:
  • Be sure to get your Doctor's permission to practice Bikram Yoga.
  • Be sure to discuss any injuries or medical conditions with the teacher BEFORE class so we can help you practice safely.
